Festival -text to speech

Festival este un program de tipul "text to speech", adica poate converti un text in voce. A fost dezvoltat intr-un departament de cercetare al universitatii din Edinburgh. Cititi mai multe aici. Pagina oficiala o gasiti aici. Destul de interesant, si se mai remarca si comentariul unor utilizatori:
Using text2wave (part of Festival) you can read in a text file, output to .wav and pass it through lame or oggenc. This way one can pause, rewind, and take the audio with you.

There is a plugin available for Gaim that interfaces with festival. It allows for instant messages to be spoken by festival so you can hear it thru your speakers.
